Importing your Podcast into Podpal
Before you can move your podcast from SoundCloud, you'll want to make sure you've imported your existing podcast into Podpal. This video explains what it means to import and redirect your feed:
**Please note: Before you can import your podcast into Podpal, you may need to update the owner email settings in SoundCloud.
To update the owner email setting in SoundCloud, follow these steps:
Log into your SoundCloud account on the web
Click on "..." in the top right of the navigation bar
Select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu
Click on the 'Content' tab
Click the 'Email address displayed' dropdown
Select one of the email addresses associated with your SoundCloud account. This is the 'Owner Email' that will be displayed in your RSS feed and read by Podpal during import. It should be an email that you have access to.
Click 'Save' to save your settings
Redirecting your RSS Feed from Soundcloud to Podpal
Switching your host from SoundCloud to Podpal is easy and only takes a few minutes! After you've imported your podcast, follow these few steps to set up a 301 redirect from your SoundCloud account to make your move official:
Log into your SoundCloud account on the web
Click on "..." in the top right of the navigation bar
Select 'Settings' from the drop-down menu
Click on the 'Content' tab
Paste your Podpal RSS feed into the field labeled 'Subscriber redirect'
Double-check that you've entered your Podpal RSS feed URL
Click the 'Save changes' button to save your settings
SoundCloud recommends giving it about a week for this to fully take effect across all platforms you're distributed to. You can delete your SoundCloud account, but we'd strongly recommend not doing so until after that week period has taken place, to make sure you retain your listeners through the switching process.
